Manimahesh Lake




Manimahesh Lake, considered sacred to Lord Shiva, is 32 km from Bharmaur in Chamba District. It is at an altitude of 4080 m and lies in Bharmaur valley at the foot of Manimahesh Kailash Peak. Manimahesh Peak is regarded as one of the mythical abodes of Lord Shiva.

Manimahesh Lake is the highest in the hierarchy of sacred waters of Chamba. Manimahesh Yatra brings in thousands of devotees every year during Radhashtami for a holy dip in the lake.
