Dirang

Dirang, a sub-divisional headquarters in the West Kameng District, is known for its hot water springs, sheep rearing farms and apple orchards. The hot water springs are considered holy by some who travel to them for a dip. The Buddhist Kalachakra Gompa is nearby.

Monpa, Hindi, Assamese and English are the languages spoken here. Nearest airport and railhead are at Tezpur and Rangapara respectively. Thereafter buses can be taken from Bomdila. Dirang is ideal for trekking and hiking.
