Sree Viswanathapuram Temple

Located at Irinjalakuda in Thrissur District, Sree Viswanathapuram Temple is a fine example of traditional Kerala style of architecture. In 1925, Diwan Natayana Menon performed the foundation of this temple. It was built according to the idea of Shri Narayana Guru, a social reformer.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya. Shashti Mahotsavam is the main festival held here annually. Thousands of devotees irrespective of caste and creed throng at the shrine during the festival. An impressive section of this six-day celebration is ‘All Kerala Drama Competition’ conducted by Sree Narayana Yuvajana Samath.

Irinjalakuda is 20 km south of Thrissur, popularly known as the cultural capital of Kerala. Irinjalakuda Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
