Rock of Gibraltar



Rock of Gibraltar is located in the middle of the Hussain Sagar Lake in the 400 year old city of Hyderabad. It is the place where the world's largest monolithic granite structure, the 350 ton structure of Lord Buddha standing on a lotus pedestal, was raised. Erected on 12th April 1992, the statue was carved out by 200 sculptors in two years.

Lumbini Park situated nearby offers immense pleasure to the visitors. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are the nearest railway stations. This place is accessible by road from all major cities in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra and Orissa. Hyderabad Airport is the closest airport. The nearby attractions include Tank Bund and Birla Mandir.
