Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary




Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary is 50 km from Warangal and is situated along the shoreline of Pakhal Lake. The sanctuary is covered by tropical dry deciduous mixed forests and mixed teak forests.

Fauna found at Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary are spotted deer, sambhar, nilgai, wild boar, guar, python, wild dogs, foxes, jackals, hyena, sloth bear, panther, tiger, ducks, teals, cormorant, spoon bills and storks. Jungle birds and water birds are seen here during winter season.

Best time to visit is from November to June. Accommodation is available at the forest and tourist rest houses in Pakhal. Hyderabad is about 130 km southwest of Pakhal. Warangal Junction Railway Station is the nearby railhead.
