Nagrota



Nagrota is a historic place in Kangra District and lies on the National Highway 20. Kangra is around 10 km west of Nagrota and about 12 km north lies Dharamsala.

Nagrota was the capital of the ancient hill state of Kangra. The famous Kangra Fort, a 1000-year-old fort on the confluence of the Banganga and Manjhi rivers, is the main attraction of the place. Brajeshwari Devi Temple and Chamunda Devi Temple are located nearby. Prominent tourist locales such as Pong Dam, Masrur and Palampur can be visited while in Nagrota.

Gaggal Airport is the nearest airport. Nagrota Railway Station is on the Kangra – Palampur rail route.
