Located at West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh, Malinithan Temple lies at the base of the Siang Hill. The site is about one km east of Likabali, where ancient ruins of 14th century structures can be seen. According to a local legend, it was from here that Lord Krishna carried away Rukmini, the daughter of King Bhismaka, on the eve of her marriage with Shishupal. Krishna and Rukmini prayed to Goddess Parvati here. Parvati is known as Malini here and hence, the place is known as Malinithan. Here, remains of a temple, icons of deities, animal motifs, floral designs, carved columns and panels can be seen. The place can be visited throughout the year. Silapathar Railway Station in Assam is the nearest railhead. A helipad situated at Along, acts as the closest airstrip.
