Kulgam

Kulgam is a modern township situated on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, about 10 km south of Anantnag, in Jammu and Kashmir. The town is about 5.54 sq km and is situated on the way between Shopian and Anantnag. Kulgam is 70 km south of Srinagar.

In ancient days, Kulgam was an important halt in the pilgrimages to Amarnath and to the sun temple at Martand.
