Jakthang lies at an altitude of 10,420 ft, on the Lachen- Green Lake trek route. The entire region is filled with rhododendron thickets. It is also an ideal base camp for trekkers.

Nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra and Darjeeling Railway Station is the closest railhead.
