Dr G U Pope College of Engineering is a Christian minority institution run by Tirunelveli Diocesan Trust Association, Church of South India, in Sawyerpuram. It is named in memory of the great Tamil scholar Dr G U Pope.
The college has been affiliated to the Anna University. Dr G U Pope College of Engineering offers four year full time courses leading to Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering. It has tie-ups with many national and international business houses for placements. The college is situated about 15 km from Tuticorin and 30 km from Tirunelveli.
