Chimbel is located 6 km east of Panaji in the Tiswadi or Ilhas taluka of North Goa District.
Situated amidst lush green hills, Chimbel is blessed with a lake and a perennial spring called Bombddo, which flows down the hill to the plains. The chapel of Our Lady of Livra Febre and the Church of Our Lady of Ajuda in Ribandar are the major shrines of the village.
