Britona



Britona is a charming fishing village lying in the southern part of Bardez taluk, in North Goa District. It is on the Nerul-Aldona road and is about 2 km from Betul and 5 km south of Porvorim. Panaji, the state capital, is about 5 km away.

The place is surrounded by lush green forests and emerald green paddy fields. The Mandovi River has its course through Britona. The church of Our Lady of Penha de Franca is located here. Reis Magos Fort, Calangute Beach, Candolim Beach and Pilerne Lake are the nearest tourist locales.

Hotel Casa Britona offers comfortable accommodation. Ferry services are available between Britona and Old Goa.

Goa Airport and Karmali Railway Station are the main access points. National Highway 17 passes close by.
