Aldona




Aldona is a beautiful village in North Goa District. It is a serene and peaceful place. A variety of trees and hills encircle the village, offering a picturesque view.

Agriculture is the primary occupation of the villagers. Karif crops such as chillies are also grown. Vegetables such as dil and raddish are also grown.

River Mandovi flows through Aldona. A nearby attraction is Mayem Lake, an ideal picnic spot.

The Church of St Thomas, one of the oldest churches in Goa, stands on a hill overlooking the captivating mines of Sirigao above the lovely island of Khorjuem. St Alex, Calangute and Our Lady of Miracles are the other famous churches in the locality. The best way to see around Aldona is by bus.
