Bharat Koop is around 18 km from Chitrakut. It contains the holy water brought by Bharat, the half-brother of Lord Ram, for the coronation of Ram.
It is believed that, Bharat collected the waters of all the sacred rivers for the coronation of Lord Ram as the king of Ayodhya. After the coronation, on the advice of Sage Atri, the waters were poured into a deep well popularly known as Bharat Koop.
A temple dedicated to Lord Ram is also situated here.
