Bataw village is situated in Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya. Itis 11 km east of Pdengshakap and 24 km south of Jowai. The distinction of the village is the Umhang Lake, an artificial lake overlooking the yellow plains of Bangladesh. Lad Rymbai- Borghat Road passes through here. Nearby attraction is the ruined temple of Borghat.
