Borghat Temple




Borghat Temple is a ruined temple located at Borghat in Jaintia Hills District. The temple is close to Bangladesh border. It is an austere looking Bengal type structure made of burnt brickbats. The temple is surrounded by a rectangular brick wall of 100 x 70 m with an entrance at the south portion.

It is believed that Jaintia Kings had offered sacrifice to appreciate Gods. Pujas are still performed by some casual visitors. The temple can be reached by the Lad Rymbai-Bataw-Borghat Road which takes off from National Highway 44 at Lad Rymbai.
