Ettapur, also spelt as Ethapur, is situated in Salem District of Tamil Nadu, about 9 km east of Valappadi and 4 km from Peddanayakkanpalayam. The main attraction is Sambamoortheeswarar Temple.

Just 8 km west lies Belur, famous for Arulmigu Thanthonreeswarar Temple. Attur, known for an old fort, is 17 km away. Tumbal and Malliyakarai are nearby.

Ettapur Road Railway Station is on the Salem-Virudhachalam rail route. Nearest major access points are Salem Town Railway Station and Salem Airport. Salem is 35 km west of Ettapur.
