Banganga Fair

Banganga Fair is an annual fair celebrated on the banks of Banganga River, about 11 km from Bairath in Jaipur District of Rajasthan. The mythological warrior Arjuna, one of the Pandava brothers, is credited with the origin of the river.

The fair is held on the full moon day of Vaisakh (April-May). The fair ground has an ancient shrine of Shri Radha Krishnaji. On the festival day, a large number of devotees gather at the temple to pay homage to the deity. In the morning, they take a holy bathe at the ghats of the Banganga River. Subsequently the people visit the Mahadev Temple and the Mutt of Goswamiji.

Besides the pilgrims, traders of different communities arrive at the fair to sell their wares including rural ornaments, toys and household items. Several joy rides come up to entertain children.
