Various cultural programs are held, which charges the exhilaration of the people. Many entertainers from different parts of Goa and fire throwers from Kerala participate in this festival.
Rombat is a part of this festival. It takes place on the second and third day of the festival. Rombat is a parade of young men dressed in traditional costumes carrying banners and umbrellas. The procession is accompanied by a series of Kunbi dances, performed by the Kunbi tribe.
Ghodemodni is a parade of horse riders. This parade can be seen only in the taluks of Fatorpa and Bicholim. To symbolically represent the arrival of spring, young boys sway green twigs. The procession culminates in a line of illuminated floats representing the important deities.
