Karjat is a taluk headquarters situated 16 km south-west of Jalgaon, in Ahmednagar District. It is 10 km from Walvad and about 15 km north-east of Rassin. Ahmednagar - the district headquarters – is around 66 km north-west. Great Indian Bustard Wildlife Sanctuary and Rehekuri Blackbuck Sanctuary are two famous wildlife sanctums nearby.
