Arpora



Arpora is a city in North Goa district. This palm-bedecked coastal hamlet of North Goa enhances the divine beauty of Calangute, the queen of beaches. The periods for visiting this beach are from November to February. The beach is encircled by Arpora-Nagoa, Saligao and Candolim villages.

The feast of St Sebastian, an important event in Arpora is celebrated every January. The Hindus celebrate Dhalo festival on the night of St Sebastian's feast. Chovatto, the primitive form of panchayat was held in Arpora in ancient times.
