Waltair

Waltair, the erstwhile health resort during the colonial era, is a bustling industrial and commercial area of Visakhapatnam. Waltair was the colonial name of Visakhapatnam and Waltair Railway Station was a major halting point for trains on the Chennai – Kolkata rail route.

Places of tourist interest here include the Church of St Paul, a Neo-Classical building built in 1847, Catholic Pilgrimage Chapel of 1867 and the famous Waltair Club. Waltair is also home to Andhra University.
