Vigirthanatheswarar Temple is located at Tiruvenjamaakuda, Tiruvarur District. The principal deity of the temple is Lord Shiva in the form of Vigirthanatheswarar. Goddess Vigirthanayagi is also worshipped here. The Sthala Teertham is Vigirtha teertham. With his pathigams, Saint Sundarar is said to have praised the lord. The nearest railway station is at Karuvur (24 km).
