Urwahi Gate



Urwahi Gate lies on the south-western side of Gwalior Fort in Madhya Pradesh. Twenty one colossal Jain rock-cut sculptures (20 m tall) dating from the 7th to the 15th centuries can be viewed above the Urwahi Gate, on both sides of the road. The sculptures depict Jain tirthankars.

Gwalior is on the Delhi-Chennai railway line. Nearest railway station is Gwalior Railway Station. Gwalior Airport is 9 km north-east of the city.
