Udayagiri is 96 km northwest of Nellore and is renowned for the ruins of a huge fort built by Vijayanagar kings in the 14th century. Sanjiva Hill, 938 m high, located here is rich in medicinal herbs. Udayagiri, an important tourist destination of Nellore District, also houses temples built during the Pallava and Chola period.
