Thiru Velukkai Temple



Thiru Velukkai temple is situated at Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Azhagiya Singar. The deity is also known as Narasimhar and Muguntha Naayagan. The deity sits in a yoga position facing east.

The temple name Velukkai is a combination of two Tamil words Vel and Irukkai. Vel means wish and Irukkai means reside. The combination is believed to indicate that the deity wishes to reside at the temple to bless his devotees.
