The Banyan is a Public Charitable Trust which offers care, food, clean clothes, safe place to stay, along with medical and psychiatric attention to mentally ill destitute women. The organisation was registered in 1993. The residential home under this trust is Adaikalam.

The Banyan has reunited over 400 women with their families.
