Sutiang Fort

Sutiang Fort is a ruined stone fort located in Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya. It stands on a hill in between Tongseng and Shnongrim villages within Nongkhlieh Elaka. There are a number of well barricaded stone caves inside the fort.

Local tradition has it that this is the last fort of the Jaintias raged by British during the war against them by Jaintias. The war was under the leadership of Kiang Nangbah, during 1862. This battle at Sutiang Fort is still remembered with awe and pride by the local populate.
