It was built by Swamiji Murugabhushanam under the blessings of the seers of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. Sri Lalitha Thiripurasundari Devi (Mother Goddess Sakthi) is worshipped here in the form of Sri Maha Meru. The main idol is surrounded by numerous images of other Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

Special occasions such as Pournami and Navarathiri days are celebrated with great devotion. A noted ritual of this temple is the anointing of the idol with 108 kalasams (pots) of milk, 108 kalasams of coconut water and 108 kalasams of honey on Chithra Pournami Days.

The temple is open for all regardless of community, religion, language or race. Its dhyana mandapam is an ideal destnation for meditatiors. The Sri Mah Meru Dhyana Nilayam has a dharamshala for feeding the poor.
