Shri Kalakandeswaram Temple



Shri Kalakandeswaram Temple located at Edavilakom in Murukkumpuzha, Thiruvananthapuram District was erected in 1922, inspired by Sree Narayana Guru. Guru consecrated a mirror in the temple with the words 'Truth, Dharma, Love, Kindness' inscribed around the pranavamantra 'Om'. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

A flag-staff made of bronze has been erected here. A wedding hall and a dance school are attached to the temple. The temple is managed by the SNDP (Shri Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam).

The temple can be approached easily as Murukkumpuzha is on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam national highway (NH 47). The nearest railhead is Murukkumpuzha Railway Station.
