Shitaladevi Temple

Dedicated to the dread goddess of small-pox, Shitaladevi Temple in Haridwar is situated to the south of the Daksha Prajapati temple. The ancient idol of the goddess here enshrined is considered to be the tutelary goddess of Daksha Prajapati. Devotees visit this temple for three days continuously if their children suffer from small pox or measles. Fairs are organized in the month of August.

Haridwar, on the main highway No 45, is connected to all major centers in the region and other parts of the country by road.
