Sherpa Buddhist Association Monastery




Sherpa Monastery is a famous Buddhist monastery located at Toongsoong in Darjeeling District of West Bengal. It is about a kilometer from Chow Rasta, a reputed traditional bazaar located in the heart of Darjeeling town.

Built in 1924, this monastery belongs to the Nyingmppa sect. Basgo Monastery is famous for its Sangay Hopamay, Chentezig and Guru Rimpoche statues.
