Saptarishi Kund, a natural lake, is about 10 km from
Yamunotri in
Uttarkashi District.
The lake is on the Kalind Parbat, at an altitude of 4421 m. It is the source of the Yamuna River and is generally covered with ice. The rare Brahma lotus grows here. Naturally carved slate stones are seen on the banks of the lake.
