Set in Salem, Sankakiri Fort is one of the important historic places in the district. It is built on the hill of Sankakiri. The fort has ten compound walls and the inner part houses 6 platforms, 5 temples and 2 mosques. Tourists can see weapons, pistol and jewels, which were used by the emperor Tipu Sultan.
