Sandur



Sandur is a taluk headquarters town located in Bellary District of Karnataka. This prominent town is on State Highway 40 between Toranagallu and Kudligi and is 43 km south-west of Bellary.

Lambani Art, an art work done on clothes, is popular in this region. Sandur is also known as the mining town of the district, where manganese and iron ore mining is done in large quantity. Donimalai Mine, Subbarayanahalli Mine, Dharmapur Iron Ore Mines and Jaisingpur Iron Ore Mine in Yeshwanthnagar are some popular mines around the town.

Nearest airport is Hubli Airport. Gadiganuru Railway Station on Hospet-Bellary route is the nearest railhead. Nearest major railhead is Hospet Junction Railway Station. By road, Sandur is directly linked with Yeshwantnagar (8 km south), Toranagallu (18 km north-east) and Hospet.
