Samdong is a taluk headquarters in East Sikkim District and is around 20 km west of Gangtok.
It rests at an altitude of 4,511 ft, at the foot of Donkiala pass. Samdong offers breathtaking views of the vast pastures land and the mighty snow-capped mountains. It is an ideal destination for rafting, hiking and trekking.
Nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra. Darjeeling Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
