Saaz



Saaz is an indigenous musical instrument of simple construct, found predominantly in Punjab and Haryana. It is also known by the name Sariya. It consists of a triangle, made of iron, steel or brass, which is held suspended in one hand. This triangle is struck by a metal rod. This instrument is usually used by the Guga Marhi singers, who are followers of Guga, the snake God.
