Raun




Raun is a rural area in Rudraprayag District, Uttaranchal, away from the teeming city crowds. The state highway connecting Baramwari and Phata passes nearby.

Ukhimath, a major Hindu pilgrim site famous as the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath, is situated nearby. Majestic mountains and challenging trekking routes mark the landscape of this village.

The place is bounded by cities and villages such as Ransi, Madmaheshwar, Giriyagaon and Kalimath. The Mandakini River, an important tributary of the River Ganges, flows close to this village.
