Ranipool is located in East Sikkim District and lies at an altitude of around 2,000 ft above sea level. It is about 10 km from Gangtok.
The Ranipool-Saramsa Corridor has been considered as an industrial zone by the Commerce and Industries Department of Sikkim.
Ranipool is linked with Gangtok and Rumtek by jeep services. National Highway 31A passes nearby. The nearest railhead is at Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.
