Rangpo



Rangpo is a border town between Sikkim and West Bengal, situated in the Tista valley of East Sikkim District in Sikkim, near Singtam (about 4 km). It is the entry point through which visitors enter Sikkim. From Rangpo, as the drive continues towards Gangtok, one can experience a changed weather varying from the hot climate of the plains to the cool and pleasant air of the mountains. This place is also the convergence of two rivers namely Tista and Rangpochu. Boarding and lodging facilities are available here.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra (124 km), West Bengal. New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in West Bengal is the closest railhead, which is 125 km from Gangtok.
