Qadam-l-Rasool

Qadam-l-Rasool is an 18th century Muslim shrine situated at the center of the city, Cuttack. The shrine is built in Indo-Islamic architectural style and spreads over an area of 57 acres. It has a high compound wall and towers at each corner. There are three mosques inside the shrine with elegant domes. At the center mosque, the footprints believed to be that of Prophet Mohammad can be seen engraved on a circular stone. The shrine also has a music gallery known as Nawabat Khana.

Qadam-l-Rasool is considered sacred to both Hindus and Muslims. It also holds the main burial ground of the Muslims where the graves of some of the Nazims, who were in charge of the administration of Orissa in the early eighteenth century, can be found.
