Located at Vadodara in Gujarat, Purva School of Bharatanatyam is a leading dance institute. Affiliated to the Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai, Purva School was established in 1983 by Sharad Pandya with the objective of promoting the art and culture heritage of India. Purva follows the Gurukul style of education in Bharatanatyam.
Purva school has two branches - one is related to teaching and training and the other is the performing branch. Apart from regular performances, the dancers' troupe performes dances to fund various charitable and social organizations.
