Puliyur

Situated on the banks of Cauvery River, Puliyur is a small settlement in Karur District , Tamil Nadu. Spanning over an area of about nine sq km, it lies near Karur. Thanthoni is situated in the south-west, Karur is in the north-west and Uppidamangalam in the south-east. The town houses many industrial establishments. Tiruchirapalli is around 27 km away. Pasupatheeswarar Temple at Karur, Kalyana Venkattaramasami Temple, Vennaimalai Subramanyar Temple, Maha Lakshmi Amman Temple at Krishanarayapuram, Tiruveengoimalai Maragathachaleswarar Temple, Rock Fort at Tiruchirapalli and Shantivanam Church are nearby tourist spots. Hotel Nandhini and Hotel Valluvar at Karur provide accommodation. The nearest airport is Tiruchirapalli Airport. Puliyur can be approached from Karur and Kulittalai by road. National Highway 67 passes through Puliyur.
