Prahladpur Pillar



Prahladpur Pillar, obtained from the Prahladpur village in Bihar, is a sand stone monolithic structure belonging to the period between 4th and 6th century. It measures about 36 ft in height and 3 ft in diameter. The column bears several inscriptions in shell characters, the earliest of which dates back to the Gupta period.

The pillar is now installed in the Sanskrit College campus at Varanasi.
