Porvorim

Porvorim, once used as the grazing ground for the cattle, has today been developed into a township. It belongs to the Bardez taluk and is surrounded by six villages. This is a plateau which stands on a hillock and located across the Mandovi River. There is a bridge over the river which connects it with rest of the state.

Porvorim is an ideal township with neat, well-maintained houses with gardens. The Mandovi River divides the two townships of Panaji and Porvorim. This township is 3 km from the capital city, Panaji and the NH 17 which goes to Mapusa passes through Porvorim. The nearest railway station is at Karmali, about 12 km and the airport is at Dabolim.
