Phyang Tsedup

Phyang Tsedup is a popular festival, held at Phyang Monastery, about 17 km west of Leh, in Jammu and Kashmir. This two day festival is celebrated on the second and third days of the sixth Tibetan month (July-August). The core of the festival is a sacred dance known as 'dramas' or 'chhams'. The huge Thangka of Skyabje Jigten Gombo - the founder of the Dringungpa monastic order - is displayed once in three years.
