Photosar village is located in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies on the Karsha - Mulbekh trekking route, a wayside haven for the travellers on this path. From here one is afforded spectacular views of the Himalayas. Yulchung is to the south-east of Photosar and Hanupatta is to its north-west. Photosar forms the diversion point for the treks to Hanupatta and Sudmo.
