Pasupati Kovil



Pasupati Kovil, also spelt Pasupati Koyil or Pasupati Koil, is a small village in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. Renowned as Cholanadu of South Kaveri, Pasupati Kovil is around 5 km from Titte and 25 km from Kumbakonam. The village is famous for the Pasupati Nathar Temple, a highly revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The annual Saptastanam festival celebrated here is attended by numerous devotees. Thanjavur is around 15 km from here. The village is accessible by local buses and taxies from Kumbakonam and Thanjavur. Pasupatikovil Railway Station serves this area. The nearest airport is at Tiruchirapalli.
