Parang Pass (Parang La), situated at an altitude of 5,580 m above sea level, connects the Spiti Valley
with other parts of Ladakh
. The Parilungbi River flows on the Spitian side of the pass and the track runs on its side. There is a glacier about 3 km north-east of this pass. There are a number of crevasses, which make it difficult to cross.
Takling Pass lies on the same axis of the Parang Pass.
