Major point of attraction here are the temples of Sri Sundararaja Perumal and Sri Chandrasekara Swamy. The Chitra festival celebrated in the Sri Sundararaja Perumal temple is a major event in the district, attended by hundreds of devotees from far and near.

Paramakudi is around 40 km north-west of Ramanathapuram. Nearest airport is at Madurai. Manamadurai Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Paramakudi Railway Station is on the Manamadurai-Ramanathapuram line.
